April 25, 2006 Graphcat 5.4 is available now, and adds support for Corel WordPerfect X3. Online ordering and downloading of the retail edition is now available.

January 18th, 2006 Corel has released version 13 of WordPerfect Office. They're calling it WordPerfect Office X3
Graphcat 5.3 will not run in WordPerfect Office X3. We'll have an announcement on Graphcat for WordPerfect X3 soon.

April 16, 2003: Corel has released WordPerfect Office 11. The new features include an option to work in what Corel is calling the old blue screen from WordPerfect 5.1/DOS. It's not that--it shows guidelines and graphics, so it's much closer to what WordPerfect 6.2/DOS looked like in text mode. It may be useful for users who can't tolerate the glare of a white page background.
Also new--there won't be a legal suite for 11, but the legal toolbar and the special file export formats for attorneys (Edgar, etc) are now included in the standard edition.
Graphcat 5.2 will not run in WordPerfect 11. There will be an upgrade for Graphcat for WordPerfect 11.
August, 2002: Graphcat 5.2 is now available. Support has been added for Corel WordPerfect Office 2002 and for WordPerfect 10. Upgrades are available at US$12 (half-price plus $2 shipping) for owners of any previous version.
September, 2000: Graphcat 5.1 is now available. This is a contact information update only, and has all the features of version 5.0. Upgrades are free on request by email to anyone who purchased version 5.0.
May, 2000: Version 7.2 of The Letterhead Kit-32 is shipping now, and adds support for Corel WordPerfect Office 2000 and WordPerfect 9. A printable manual in PDF (Adobe Acrobat) format has also been added. Discounted upgrades are available.
May, 2000: Corel has released Service Pack 3 for Corel WordPerfect Office 2000, as a cumulative patch, including the fixes from the earlier service packs. These files are available from the Corel FTP site: From the Corel FTP site. main page, follow the links to Support, WordPerfect Office 2000, and FTP site.
Graphcat Users: Pack 3 is compatible with all Science Translations Software products, but it does not fix an import failure with Corel Draw images. When you download Service Pack 3, be sure to ALSO download CDRCN488.EXE, which replaces the CDR conversion program with a newer edition.
April, 2000: Reprints are now online for some of the magazine articles written by Jerry Stern for WordPerfect Magazine and The WordPerfectionist and The Baltimore Computer Times. More will follow.
January, 2000: Corel has released service pack 7 for Corel WordPerfect Suite 8, available online at the Corel FTP site. The service pack adds both bug fixes and updated features. Graphcat, FontKat, and The Letterhead Kit, in their current versions (5.0, 3.0, and 7.1, respectively), are fully compatible with Service Pack 7. Note that pack 7 is cumulative--it includes prior fixes.
Legal Suite Users: There is a separate pack 7 for the Legal Suite; be sure to download the correct edition.
December, 1999: FontKat 3.0 is shipping now! Support has been added for Corel WordPerfect 9. There are now over 250 phrases available for samples, and now the phrase list can be edited. Upgrades are available at half-price.

July, 1999: Graphcat 5.0 is shipping now! New features for Corel WordPerfect 9, 8, and 7(32-bit) users include a new paper selection option--you can now easily create clip art catalogs on any size page, letter or landscape! There is a new option to hide file extensions in the captions, showing "Picture.jpg" as "Picture", for example, and handling of very long filenames has been improved--you'll see fewer endnotes with long names. Upgrades are available at half-price.
June, 1999: FileTiger 1.11 has been released over at our sister site, FileTiger.com. The new version adds network support, advanced tree copying, selection of files by file mask, and improved speed. FileTiger is only $29.
May, 1999: Corel has released WordPerfect Office 2000, including WordPerfect 9. The versions of Graphcat, FontKat, and The Letterhead Kit-32 written for WordPerfect 8 will NOT work in 9, but new versions are in the works.

May 10th, 1998: Corel has released several patches for Corel WordPerfect Suite 8. Service Pack 4 breaks Graphcat's ability, in versions 4.1 and 4.2, to import DOS-style short file names.
A minor upgrade of Graphcat, version 4.3, is available now, and adds version 8.0.484 to the list of supported versions of Corel WordPerfect 8. Version 4.3 of Graphcat also corrects problems some users have had with long paths that include spaces, and single-column catalogs. The clip art bonuses and layout features remain unchanged. The help file has been re-organized and generally overhauled.
Upgrades on disk from all former versions of Graphcat, either DOS or Windows, are available at $10 plus shipping.

October 27th, 1997: Graphcat Clip Art Cataloger has won a monthly prize in
Corel's $3,000,000 World Design Contest. Corel flew Jerry Stern, the author of Graphcat,
to Ottawa for the Awards Gala as a finalist in the Business Applications, 3rd Party
Applications category. These awards recognize the best work done world wide in CorelDRAW
and Corel WordPerfect Suite. The gala was held Monday evening, after the morning
announcements of CorelDRAW 8 and the Corel Video Network Computer. The Corel 'Perfect Evening' event was held in the Corel Centre, home of the Ottawa Senators hockey team, and included a laser light show, fireworks, and of course, giant video screens displaying the artwork of the finalists and showing off features of Corel WordPerfect Suite 8 and CorelDRAW 8. Live bands provided background and music for dancing, and a silent auction was held throughout the evening, featuring framed images created in CorelDRAW, including some from winners of this year's contest. Proceeds benefitted the Corel Endowment Fund for the Arts. |
October, 1997: Corel has released a service patch for the original shipping edition of Corel WordPerfect Suite 8, described as fixing problems with printing blank pages and printing documents containing full justification. This patch also corrects the tendency of wide graphics placed inside a column to reach past the column borders. Graphics in columns now behave as they did in previous versions--they are scaled down to fit automatically. All users of Graphcat in WP 8 should download this patch, available from the
Corel FTP site. The same fixes are also on the Corel 'Revision B' CD for WP 8.
August 15th: Corel has begun shipping the 16-bit edition of 'Corel WordPerfect Suite 7 for Windows 3.1x'. This is a bargain package, including the 16-bit editions of WordPerfect 7, Quattro 7, Presentations 7, Paradox 7, Corel Flow 2, Corel Time Line, Rhymer, The American Heritage Consise Dictionary, Dashboard 3.0, Netscape Navigator 2.02, Sidekick 2.0, Envoy 1.0a, 10,000 clipart images, 1,000 fonts, 200 photos, and the Windows 95 edition of Corel WordPerfect Suite 7 on a second CD-ROM.
Users of this new 16-bit product need to use the same product versions of Graphcat, FontKat, and The Letterhead Kits as they would with WordPerfect 6.1--upgrades are not required. The 32-bit macro sets of these products, although labeled for use with WordPerfect 7, will NOT work with the 16-bit product, only with the original 32-bit WordPerfect 7.
June 1st, 1997: Corel has begun shipping Corel WordPerfect Suite 8 for Windows 95 & NT.
Previous versions of Graphcat, FontKat, and The Letterhead Kits are not compatible with the new product. Graphcat version 4.1 or above, The Letterhead Kit-32 version 7.1 are needed for use with Corel WP 8. FontKat 2.1 is compatible with WP 8.

May, 1997: The June 1997 issue of PC Computing Magazine has rated the 'Best 1,001 Downloads from the Web.' We've got four of them right here! Graphcat, FontKat, The Letterhead Kit-32, and the Wood Clips Sampler Set all made the list. February, 1997: Corel Corporation has released a DOS update of WordPerfect. The new WordPerfect Suite for DOS includes WordPerfect/DOS 6.2, Quattro Pro 5.6, Presentations, and the usual CD-load of fonts and clip art. Graphcat, FontKat, and The Letterhead Kits are compatible with the new version of WordPerfect in their current versions.
September 25th, 1996: The new Corel Office Suite 7 for Windows 95 has reached the stores and mail order houses. This new professional suite includes the programs from WordPerfect Suite 7 (WP, Quattro Pro, Envoy, Presentations, Corel Flow 3, Sidekick, Dashboard, Netscape Navigator, Quick View Plus, lots of fonts and graphics) PLUS Paradox 7, InfoCentral 7, and the illustration module of Corel Draw! 6.
